Nordic refugee-ministry gathering links churches and local support networks

A Nordic gathering in Kauniainen, Finland, brought together about 30 people from churches, mission agencies, Christian organizations, public services, and refugee-support work to discuss ministry, trafficking response, and cooperation across cultures.

Evangelical Focus reported that the fourth Nordic Refuge conference met at the Finnish Bible Institute from October 15 to 17. Petra31 organized the gathering, which included representatives from churches, mission agencies, Christian organizations, and the public sector in several Nordic countries.

Sessions considered support for refugees and migrants, assistance for trafficking survivors, evangelism among Muslims in Helsinki, and relationships between ethnic and local churches. Participants also launched the Lydia Network, an initiative intended to help local helpers meet, share experience, and identify practical needs.
