UN agencies report that two-thirds of children on European migration routes arrived alone
UN reporting says about 20,800 of the 31,100 children recorded arriving via mixed migration routes in Europe during 2025 were unaccompanied or separated.
An October 7 United Nations summary puts the unaccompanied or separated share at 67%. The joint report was prepared by UNHCR, UNICEF, and the International Organization for Migration.
The figures describe the routes and populations monitored, rather than all children entering Europe. They highlight protection and family-separation concerns that can be obscured by aggregate arrival totals.
