Ukrainian Protestant leader reports more than 40,000 wartime baptisms

At Hope for Europe, Igor Bandura reported more than 40,000 baptisms in churches represented by Ukraine’s Protestant evangelical council since the full-scale invasion.

Christian Daily International’s October 9 report attributes the figures to Bandura’s acceptance remarks at the October 8 Hope Award ceremony. He also reported more than 2,000 pastoral and diaconal ordinations during the war.

Bandura said refugees had formed more than 400 groups and churches across 25 EU countries. These council-wide figures cover a different scope from earlier reporting about Ukrainian Baptist church plants and should not be combined with that narrower count.
