Faroese Bible Society launches a modern New Testament translation
United Bible Societies reporting describes a new Faroese New Testament produced through cooperation between Lutheran and free-church representatives.
Evangelical Focus published the report on October 8. Former Lutheran bishop Hans Jacob Joensen led the project, which aims to make the text accessible to contemporary Faroese readers.
The edition includes reading aids such as maps and glossaries. Further work on the Psalms and a complete updated Faroese Bible is planned.
