UK evangelicals appear younger and more ethnically diverse than the wider population

An adult survey estimates that broad evangelical identity and belief are concentrated disproportionately among younger and ethnic-minority respondents.

Whitestone Insight surveyed 8,407 UK adults online between February 25 and March 8. The Evangelical Alliance reports 7.9% as broad evangelicals, 64% of practicing Christians in that category, and marked youth and ethnic diversity.

The report’s 5.5 million headline applies adult-sample percentages to the entire UK population, including children. Percentages carry a stated margin of error of plus or minus 1.6 points.
