Hispanic and Latino churches recognized as missionary senders

IMB’s Hispanic and Latino Missions initiative highlights churches historically described as mission fields that are increasingly sending missionaries internationally.

The initiative presents Hispanic and Latino congregations as active partners in sending missionaries, including to people groups that are difficult to reach. September 20, 2026, was designated Hispanic and Latino Missions Sunday.

This is evidence of an institutional missions strategy and a designated observance, not a quantified measure of year-over-year growth. The broader claim that Hispanic missions are expanding should not be turned into an unsupported numerical trend.
