Christian organizations challenge the EU’s proposed return regime
Christian organizations warn that the proposed EU return system could expand detention and weaken safeguards for people ordered to leave.
Catholic, Protestant, and other Christian organizations argued that the proposed regime could normalize detention, including for families, and favor forced over voluntary return. A later statement addressed the European Parliament’s position.
